Archbishop Charles Palmer Buckle

Is the Chairman of the Governing Council of St. Karol School of Nursing and the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Cape Coast.

He is a product of Pope John XXIII Secondary School and Minor Seminary, Effiduase, Koforidua and the Pontifical Urban College and University, Rome, Italy.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and another in Sacred Theology together with a Doctorate Degree in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Salesian University, Rome, Italy. 

In addition to his priestly duties and high office of Archbishop, he was appointed one of the 9-member National Reconciliation Commission (NRC) of Ghana in 2002-2004. He has served in many capacities as a teacher, counselor, Vice President of Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Chairman of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Conference, etc.

Being an eternal optimist he continues to encourage and support great initiative. He is the Chancellor of the Catholic Institute of Business and Technology (CIBT) - a tertiary co-educational institute in Accra providing university education and hope for many. 

In the midst of all the darkness, Archbishop Palmer-Buckle sees a lot of hope and light - to the weak he makes himself weak, that he might gain the weak; like the apostle Paul, the Archbishop makes himself all things to all men, that he might by all means save some for Christ (see 1 Cor. 9:22). This is his motto.
